I would like to replace my old Honda engine, how do I know which engine to buy?
Firstly, you must identify the exact engine model and type of your current engine. To do this, use the pdf file on this webpage called 'Honda Model Number and Serial Number Locator'. Once you have your model and type (eg. GX160 QX4), you may be able to find this engine listed on our website. If not, then please contact us with your engine serial number and we can check this for you
What is a 'non-oil alert engine'?
Engines with oil alerts will cut out if the oil level of the engine is too low. This prevents irreversible damage to the engine. However some applications require no oil alert in the engine, as the oil alert may activate and cut the engine out if it is tilted or is suddenly shifted. Examples of this include karting and some rotovators. So, you must ensure that there is sufficient oil in the engine before starting a non-oil alert engine!
